Utrecht Summer School in Music Information Retrieval (USMIR)

Starting on Monday 2 August 2010, the Utrecht Summer School in Music Information Retrieval (USMIR) will provide one week of intensive training in state-of-the-art topics in Music Information Retrieval (MIR). Particular attention will be given to the importance of human understanding and experience of music in MIR research.

USMIR is an interdisciplinary summer school, open for students from the disciplines of computer science, library and information science, engineering, musicology, cognitive science and others. The target level includes master’s students in their final year, newly started PhD students and researchers.

USMIR is jointly organized by the Department of Information and Computing Sciences (ICS) of Utrecht University and the Institute of Psychoacoustics and Electronic Music (IPEM), Department of Musicology of Ghent University, and is part of the Utrecht Summer School programme.

Submission deadlines extended

26 February 2010

The deadline for submission of papers, tutorials and STAR papers has been extended to Wednesday 24 March, 2010. As a consequence, other dates will shift as well. The notification date is 12 May; the deadline for camera-ready papers is 2 June. Due to the constraints of the schedule, no further extension of the submission deadline is possible.
